ABSTRACT: Tuberculosis, one of the prevalent infectious diseases in the Philippines, has incited the health officials yo create the Directly Observed Short Course (DOTS) program to address its increasing incidence; however, various studies have shown that the program alone was said to be ineffective without compliance, and one of the many factors affecting it involves family support. Previous studies have conflicting ideas regarding the role of the family in the patient's compliance, thus, leading to the query as to what effects does family support have to the compliance of pulmonary tuberculosis patient TB-DOTS program.
