ABSTRACT: The study aimed to measure the level of awareness of the students on the concept of bioplastics. The concept of bioplastic was divided into: Composition, Preparation and Types, Uses, Environmental Benefits and the Significant Difference when grouped according to sections. The study was conducted in Far Eastern University - Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation among the 98 Grade 12 Senior High School students aged 18 years old and above. The study employed the descriptive-correlational design to evaluate the level of awareness of the respondents. The respondents' were known to be aware on the components of bioplastics. However, respondents have a slight awareness on its types and preparation. Results also showed that the respondents are aware on the uses of biplastics in terms of packaging. On the other hand, respondents are slightly aware about the use bioplastics in terms of utensils and material for furniture. Of all the four indicators under the uses of bioplastic, the result showed that the respondents have minimal knowledge about bioplastic container. In terms of bioplastics' environmental benefits, it was found out that the respondents are aware as to rate of degradation, ans contribution to climactic change. The result of the study showed that the respondents' awareness in terms of the composition, preparation and types, uses, environmental benefits of bioplastic has no significant difference when they are grouped into section.
