ABSTRACT: Nursing is a profession that gives more attention on rendering care for the sick, injured and well individuals. The 3 main objective of this study is, first, to determine if there is a significant difference between the quality of care rendered by the staff nurses who work 8hour long shifts versus when they work 12-hours long using these 8 determinants set by the Karen-Personnel tool of Measuring Quality of Care namely Psychosocial Relations, Commitment, Work Satisfaction, Openness, Closeness, Competence Development, Security, and Insecurity and the second is compare them. Lastly, to determine the staff nurses' preferred workshift schedule. The population used in this study are the staff nurses of FEU-NRMF Medical Center stations 3A, 3C and Emergency Room with a total of 75 respondents.
