ED - TI - Insecticide ability of Chrysanthemun Flower Decoction and Neem Tree Leaves Infusion / AV - SHS 2019 0010 PY - 2019/// CY - Fairview, Quezon City PB - Senior High School, FEU-NRMF N1 - Includes appendices and bibliographical references; THSH N2 - Abstract: Organic insecticides from plant materials can be an alternative for the synthetic insecticides. The objective of this study is to recognize the insecticide ability of plant materials such as chrysanthemum flower and neem tree leaves and how feasible these plant materials are as an alternative insecticide. This study utilized the experimental design. The insecticide ability of chrysanthemum flower decoction and neem tree leaves infusion are determined by using it on common Philippine household pests- namely cockroaches and ants. A commercially available insecticide, Brand X, was used as the gold standard on the insecticide ability observed. A total of 61 cockroaches and 3,485 ants were utilized as test subjects in this study. The chrysanthemum flower decoction was discovered to be most standard (Brand X) and neem tree leaves infusion. There is no significant difference in the insecticide ability of chrysanthemum flower decoction and that of the gold standard insecticide (Brand X), while neem tree leaves infusion was found out to be least effective among the three insecticides. The non-significance of the difference between chrysanthemum flower decoction and the gold standard (Brand X) indicate that the chrysanthemum flower decoction is equally effective with the gold standard in killing common household pests. Hence, indicating very high feasibility of chrysanthemum flower decoction as an organic-safer insecticide that the commercially available insecticide. ER -
