This is a case report of a mucinous appendiceal adenocarcinoma in a 64-year-old male who was diagnosed pre-operatively to have acute appendicitis. Routine investigations were done and was suggestive of acute appendicitis. With the pre-operative diagnosis being Acute Appendicitis, the initial surgical plan for the patient was a diagnostic laparoscopy with appendectomy. However, with the incidental intraabdominal finding of a perforated mucinous appendiceal adenocarcimona, a conversion of the procedure to ah exploratory laparotomy with right hemicolectomy with primary bowel anastomosis was done. The specimen was submitted for histopathtology, confirming the diagnosis of a mucinous appendiceal adenocarcimona. ER -
