N2  - Abstract:  In the field of nursing, accurate documentation is important. Good documentation practices ensure patient safety and upholds quality nursing care. With the advent of new technologies such as the Laboratory Information System (LIS), documentation methods have changed. Factors such as the functional requirements and service outcomes of the LIS are integral to determining the effectiveness of the LIS in the transference of data by staff nurses. This study gathered 75 staff nurses from FEU-NRMF Medical Center and were asked to answer an online questionnaire derived from Farzandipour et al. (2018), Pai & Huang (2011), and Wahls & Cram (2007), in assessing the functional requirements and service outcomes of the LIS. The data collected was then presented through tables with corresponding mean scores and Pearson correlation coefficient results alongside interpretations. Results revealed that LIS is well-equipped with the different functional requirements, and has the necessary elements of the service outcomes in the accuracy of transference of data by staff nurses. Using Pearson's coefficient for the statistical analysis of data, the researchers conclude that there is a significant relationship between the functional requirements and service outcomes of the LIS in the accuracy of transference of data by staff nurses
