Since challenges still arise with its implementation, we aim to assess the readiness of private hospital-based Philippine Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP)members in the implementation of the Universal Health Care Law. A survey was conducted among 3 respondents practicing in private hospitals in District 5, Quezon City. Participants were given a self-administered questionnaire obtaining the Profile of Physicians, Attitude and Perceptions to Medical Practice and UHC, Profile of facilities, Profile of patients, Process care and Financing and Financial Management. Majority of the participants have a positive outlook on the implementation of the Universal Health Care Law. All of them practice in a high-level care facility which provides complete and comprehensive services. Most of the patients that the respondents see belong to the middle class and use the facility for their short-term problems. For the Process of Care, First Contact Care is adequate and complete, Record Keeping is comprehensive but still paper-based, Continuing Care is inadequate, there is proper coordination of care, families are included and being given importance in decision making especially those which pertains to the health of the patient, respondents are community oriented and culturally competent, and adequate quality Improvement is being performed. Since Challenges still arise with its implementation, further studies are still needed in order to assess whether the goals of the Universal Health Care Law are attained ER -
