Abstract: Domestic violence has been a long-standing and controversial issue in the Philippines. With the recent pandemic, authorities disclosed in June 2020 that since the COVID-19 lockdowns began in March of 2020, this number has escalated. The pandemic has resulted in an increase in domestic violence against Filipino women by their partners. WHO report shows that violence against women has increased since the previous year. Despite the availability of different channels that were expected to lower abuse cases, the cases still continued to rise. Not all domestic violence involves physicality; some may not even recognize that they are being abused. Many suffer from emotional or psychological harm, which can be subtle and insidious or overt manipulative. This study aims to determine the types of domestic violence common against women during the COVID-19 pandemic in Quezon City. Data collected from Social Services Development Department (SSDD) which contains the number of cases on the different types of domestic violence among women in each district (I to VI) of Quezon City, the number of VAWC cases with or without filed complaint in court, and with availed services and programs were analyzed and validated to look into why certain types of domestic violence is more common than the other through the use of other literature reviews. For all of the Districts the most common form of domestic violence cases was Violence against Women and Children (VAWC) followed by Psycho/Emotional/Verbal Abuse, Physical Abuse, Bereaved Mother, Trafficking and Prostitution, Sexual Abuse and Kasambahay with the lowest number of cases. Out of 937 cases. Out of 937 cases in the barangay, 714 victims availed of the counseling program, 61 issued a Barangay Protection Order, 50 were referred for medical assistance, 40 chose Information Education Communication (IEC) campaigns, 37 were referred to PNP, 16 were referred to court, 11 opted training and 8 were referred to SSDD. To summarize, the majority of the victims chose to avail counseling. This research proves that different forms of domestic abuse are still evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in Quezon City, Philippines. Based on the data gathered, psychological or emotional abuse was determined to be the most frequent type of domestic abuse reported, succeeded by physical abuse. Moreover, majority of the victims availed counseling programs and others availed other services. Despite the government's efforts to implement Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004), the number of domestic violence cases remain to be significant.
