N2  - Abstract:  Upper back pain (UBP) is a pain between the neck and lower back which is usually caused by injuries to the ligaments or muscles that attach to the vertebrae, it is a form of back pain or spine pain which is a much less common problem than lower back pain. Nevertheless, when it occurs, pain in the upper part of the spine can make the neck and shoulders stiff and uncomfortable, limiting movement.  UBP is also often in conjunction with neck pain or shoulder pain usually among students that bring heavier backpacks. The study aims to determine the association of weight of back pack of senior high school students of FEU-NRMF and upper back pain.  A cross sectional study design was used to determine the prevalence of upper back pain due to heavy lifting of backpacks among senior high school students of FEU-NRMF. Respondents were 70 senior high school students with age range from 16-23 years old and a computed mean age of 19.5 with a standard deviation of 7.28. Students aged 16 to 17 years old were fourteen (14), 18-19 years old students were thirty-one (31), 20-21 years old were twenty-two (22) and 22-23 years old three (3). As per sex, number of female and male respondents were 43 (61%) and 27 (39%), respectively.  The researchers conclude that there is no association between upper back pain and carrying heavy weight backpack of senior high school students of FEU-NRMF. The researchers recommend future researchers who are also conducting the same study to widen participants of the study not only to Senior High School students of FEU-NRMF but also to other medical courses of different Schools, Colleges or Institution.
