Previous studies have shown that medical students tend to prefer specialized fields over primary care, but there is a lack of understanding of what UHC and PHC represent, which may contribute to the scarcity of primary care providers. The objective of this study is to explore the medical students' knowledge of the core principles of UHC and PHC and its impact on their career choices. A mixed-methods approach was used to collect and analyze data from five institutions across the Philippines, using a survey research design and involving various strategies to ensure privacy and confidentially in data collection. Although the majority of the respondents in the study have fair knowledge on PHC, while the majority have good knowledge on UHC, overall there is no significant relationship between medical students' future career choice and their knowledge on UHC and PHC ER -
