ABSTRACT: Impostor phenomenon is a person's persistent perception that they lack intelligence, skills, or competence and are unworthy of achievement. Numerous studies showed the effect impostor phenomenon has on an individual's capabilities. However, there is little data that show us the characteristics of the impostor phenomenon on self-esteem, and resolving feelings associated with said phenomenon. As student nurses continue to enhance their self-esteem, this study was conducted by the researchers to determine if there is a significant relationship between the Impostor Phenomenon's characteristics to the self-esteem of nursing graduates according to the present impostor phenomenon characteristics present such as: discount, luck, fake, and fear and self-esteem score in terms of self-competence and self-liking. The study employed Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS) and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) to assess the impostor phenomenon characteristics and self-esteem of nursing graduates. The researchers used Total Enumeration Sampling under Purposive Sampling as the design and technique. Participants were nursing graduates from batches 2021 and 2022 at Far Eastern University - Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU-NRMF). Data were collected in a span of two weeks. The results showed that the overall weighted mean translates to a neutral rating of the respondents to the items under the impostor phenomenon's characteristics. Moreover, both self-competence and self-liking obtained positive results. Overall, the study revealed that there was a statistically significant correlation between the impostor phenomenon characteristics and self-esteem of the nursing graduates. This study provided awareness about feelings of individuals suffering from the impostor phenomenon as a guide to prepare themselves as future nurses. The findings of the study might be used as reference data in conducting further research or in testing the validity of other related discoveries and can be improved by future researchers.
