Extra Ovarian Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma " Ovarian Cancer in the Ovaries "



Extraovarian Primary peritoneal Carcinoma (EOPPC), is a relatively new defined disease that develops only in women. It accounts for a total of 10% of cases with a presumed diagnosis of an Ovarian Carcinoma. Characterized by abdominal carcinomatosis, or minimally involved the ovaries, and no identifiable primary. It has been important to differentiate Extraovarian Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma to a Primary Ovarian Carcinoma although clinical manifestation and management is the same. Prognosis and survival rate in poorer in patients with Extraovarian Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma. A caseof an Extraovarian Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma it`s clinical manifestation pathogenesis and its treatment strategies is presented.
