Abstract: A six month old female was brought to the emergency room due to acute multiple episodes of non bilious and non projectile vomiting. Pertinent physical examination on the abdomen revealed hyperactive bowel sounds. During the course of the illness, she was noted to have abdominal distention. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed cystic structure in the right hemiabdomen. The patient underwent emergency exploratory laparotomy with an operative diagnosis of duplication cyst for which segmental resection of the intestine was done. This paper aims to discuss a rare case of congenital cyst in early infancy, its diagnosis, management and prognosis.
