Brain MRI showed signal abnormalities in the medial temporal lobe, highly suggestive of herpes encephalitis. CSF analysis showed pleocytosis with predominance of lymphocytes. IgG Antibody for HSV-1 was positive. Acyclovir therapy was started, and neurologic and encephalitic symptoms progressively improved. She was discharged on her 18th HD with improved neurologic status ER -
