This increases morbidity, length of hospital stay and cost of care. This study is a cross sectional analytic study using AKIRI in predicting acute kidney injury postoperatively. This was done by chart review of 252 patients who underwent major noncardiac surgery from Janauary 1, 2008 to December 31, 2009. Of the 252, twelve patients (4.8%) had acute kidney injury postoperatively. Six (2.4%) were from AKIRI class IV and six 2.4% were from the class V. a score of >4 in the AKIRI has shown a 94.8% predictive value of acute kidney injury postoperatively. All the variables had significant association with the occourrence of postoperative acute kidney injury ER -
