N2  - Abstract:  Japanese encephalitis (JE) is a common mosquito borne flaviviral encephalitis., In asia, pigs are considered to be the most important amplifying host, providing a link to human through their proximity to housing. Most infections of JE are asymptomatic, but if clinical illness develops, it causes significant morbidity and mortality. IgM capture enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) has been the most widely used diagnostic methods for JEV antibody detection. This is a case of 12-year-old male who presented with seizure and decreased of consciousness, consequently diagnosed with Japanese encephalitis by IgM Jap E titer. The child survived but suffer severe neuropsychiatric sequelae. Since the morbidity is inevitable, prevention by human vaccination is considered to be the most effective control measure for Japanese encephalitis virus
