Abstract: A study of street foods sold within the vicinity of Far Eastern University - Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation was carried out to assess the microbial content and lead content present on the street foods. Five food samples from each kind of street food namely kikiam, squid ball and fish ball were collected. Presence of possible pathogenic organisms and significant lead content were tested on the food samples collected. The samples were brought to SGS Laboratory for the lead content analysis. Results showed presence of pathogenic organisms such as Shigella, Lactose fermenting. Non-lactosee fermenting, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and non-pathogenic bacteria on the samples. For the lead content test, the results indicated that the Lead content of kikiam, fish balls and squid balls were lower than the minimum detection for lead which is <0.05ppm.
