Among them, only 24have completed the said program. Their pre-existing knowledge regarding breastfeeding was identified through a pre-test and a seminar was conducted and a post-seminar test was done to assess its effectiveness. Pre-seminar test findings revealed that most mothers have misconceptions like discarding of colostrums, discontinuing breastfeeding in the presence of maternal illness, the belief that high protein content of cow's milk is better than breastmilk, improper cleaning of the breast, and the wrong notions of the mother that immediate feeding after work would affect the health of the baby. Analyzing the results of post-seminar test, statistical test revealed that there was a significant difference (p<0.05) of knowledge before and after the seminar.
