A descriptive study was done with the total sample size of 150 household heads, after being selected through systematic random sampling. Knowledge was detrmined using a 7-item self administered questionnaire based on the specific objective of the study. A significant percentage of answers were obtained from the respondents specifically on the general perception that tuberculosis is a lung disease, that anybody is susceptible to the disease, is oronasally transmitted and is prevented by early consultation and vaccination. Majority also have the correct knowledge on the classic signs and symptoms of tuberculosis and the different modalities in diagnosing this disease.
