A STUDY ON THE ANTI-FUNGAL PROPERTY OF KANGKONG (IPOMEA AQUATICA FORSK) BUD AGAINST TRICHOPHYTON MENTAGROPHYTE - QUEZON CITY FEU-NRMF ND - 11 PAGES

ABSTRACT: Kangkong buds were used in the study to determine its anti-fungal effect against Trichophyton mentagrophyte. Four different concentrations of Kangkong bud extract namely 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% were utilized for the in vitro testing. Three samplings were done in triplicates. Results that all kangkong bud extracts concentrations produced inhibition of growth against Trichophyton mentagrophyte, 100% having most activity and 25% being the least. However, the mean anti-microbial index of the positive control. It was concluded that the Kangkong bud extract has anti-fungal effect but cannot be considered to be an effective anti-fungal agent.
