A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE EFFICACY OF THREE ANTI-DANDRUFF SHAMPOOS ON MALE HUMAN SUBJECTS - NO NO. OF PAGES

A total of 20 subjects were selected for a comparison of the anti-dandruff efficacy of three shampoos. All subjects used a mild shampoo (P) as control for one week before starting on Drug A, Drug B, and C. Loose and adherent dandruff was each rated on a scale of 0 to 5 (absent to severe) every three days after the first application of treatment twice weekly for three weeks. The mean total pre-study score for all subjects were 3 .38 (Drug A). 3.22 (Drug B), and 2.60 (Drug C). The improvement was noticeably greater on Drug C than on any of the other shampoo. ANOVA at distribution and Scheffe test was used at confidence interval of 95% , a=0.05. Results showed that the values were statistically significant to conclude that all three anti-dundruff shampoo have different effects and on which Drug C has he highest efficacy as each of the other two was compared.
