N2  - ABSTRACT: The aim of our study is to detrmine the effectiveness of zinc extract from fresh peas in treating diarrhea in guinea pigs,  The experimental method was utilized.  There were 4 set-ups.  One set-up for the control group and 3 set-ups for the experimental group.  Each set-up consists of 1 guinea pig. All the guinea pigs were induced with Castor oil to promote diarrhea.  The control group was given Diatabs as anti-diarrheal drug while 3 experimental set-ups were given zinc extracts of 100%,  50%  and  25%  concentrations respectively as an antidiarrheal  agent. The  zinc formulations were found to be comparably  effective in alleviating  diarrheal  symptoms as the commercial drug,  Diatabs.  The findings of the study seems to indicate the potency of 25% zinc extract as medication for diarrhea in guinea pigs
