NICANOR REYES MEDICAL FOUNDATION MEDICAL CENTER NOVEMBER 16-27, 2009 AV - M-CFM 2010 002 PY - 2009///-2010 CY - QUEZON CITY PB - FEU-NRMF N1 - zara'at N2 - ABSTRACT: This study determined the factors affecting turn-Around-Time in Outpatient Department and Pay treatment Room of FEU-NRMF Medical Center from 8:00 to 4:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays, for two weeks, from November 16 to 27, 2009. To determine the relationship of Turn-Around-Time, the Independent variables (Time of day, Day of the week and Department), the Dependent variable (turn-Around-Time of OPD-PTR) and ConfoundIng variables (Number of Patients and Number of Medical Staff) were studied. Using cross sectional study, outcomes and factors were assessed and total enumeration was applied in this study. An ANOVA for the Independent variables and Turn-Around-Time was performed. Level of significance was set at alpha ).05. To test the significance between variable levels, a Tukey Kramer HSD test was used for pairwise mean comparisons, A total of 697 patients of the various Departments of the OPD were used for the study. The Child Health Department had the longest mean Turn-Around-Time of 74.5 minutes while the ORL-HNS Department recorded the shortest mean Turn-Around-Time of 45.4 minutes. The mean Turn-Around-Time for the Pay Treatment Room was 55 minutes. Among the Departments, the Medicine Department recorded the longest Turn-Around-Time of 100 minutes while the Ophthalmology Department recorded the shortest Turn-Around-Time of 35 minutes. Oneway Anova of TAT by Department shows that there were significant difference between Turn-Around-Time of Medicine Department and ORL-HNS Department in relation to Turn-Around-Time. Positive value (3.301) indicated that Medicine and ORL-HNS affect the TAT. Oneway Anova of Turn-Around-Time by Time of the Day Showed that there were significant difference between Turn-Around-Time of time slots 8:00-10:00am and 2:00-4:00pm Value of pairs OF MEANS BETWEEN THE TWO TIME Slots is 0.611. This means that time affects TAT especially from 8:00-10:00am and 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Oneway Anova of Turn-Around-Time by Time of the Day shows that there are significant differences between Turn-Aound-Time by Day of the week. As presented the pairs of means that have positive values are beween Friday and Thursday which had 1.850. Friday and Wednesday Having 3.779. Friday having 3,779. Friday and Monday having 14.819. Friday and Tuesday having 7,659. This means that Friday has a significant difference Monday to Thursday and vice versa. Turn around time is affected by days of the week. ER -
