THIS REQUIRES THAT LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS RECOGNIZE THE SIX FUNCTIONAL ELEMENTS OF A WELL-DESIGNED SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT (SWM) SYSTEM: SOLID WASTE GENERATION, TRANSFER RECOVERY/PROCESSING STORAGE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL. EACH ELEMENT ENTAILS SEVERAL BASIC REQUIRMENTS THAT HAVE TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. HOWEVER, THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN INTEGRATED SWM PROGRAM SHOULD FIRST WITH WASTE APPRAISAL TO DETERMINE THE WASTE GENERATION AND WASTE PROFILE OF THE COMMUNITY AND ASSESS ITS SOLD WASTE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES. THE OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY WERE TO DETERMINE THE WEIGHT AND COMPONENT OF HOUSEHOLD WASTE AS BIODEGRADABLE AND NON-BIODEGRADABLE AND TO DESCRIBE THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES AT THE HOUSEHOLD LEVEL ALREADY IN PLACE IN SNKI-AGAPE, BARANGAY 178, CAMARIN II, CALOOCAN CITY. QUESTIONNAIRE WAS USED AND WASTES SEGREGATED INTO BIODEGRADABLE AND NON-BIODEGRADABLE COMPONENTS WERE WEIGHED ACCORDINGLY. THERE WERE NINE QUESTIONS ANSWERABLE WITH "PALAGI"(AT ALL TIME), "MINSAN"(NOW AND THEN), AND "HINDI" (NEVER). AS A RESULT OF THIS SURVEY WE FOUND OUT THAT MAJORITY OF THE RESPONDENT'S GARBAGE WERE COLLECTED BY THEIR GARBAGE TRUCK COLLECTOR ER -
