520 _aAbstract: This study assesses the effectivity of Clitoria ternatea Linn leaf methanolic extract to inhibit the biofilm production of the organism Pseudomonas aeruginosa through testing by using microtiter assay. This study also evaluates the minimum inhibitory concentration and the productivity of the plant extract against the formation of biofilm. The research focuses on the capability and potency of Clitoria ternatea linn leaf extract in inhibiting biofilm activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The process of serial dilution was observed using prepared stock and working solutions in order to determine the various concentrations of the extract. Additionally, the principle of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) with corresponding positive and negative controls was utilized to establish the sub-MIC needed for the biofilm assay. Thereafter, appropriate staining and fixation produces were accomplished for spectrophotometric reading of the microtiter biofilm assay. Results yielded no MIC was determined; thus the following concentrations were considered as the sub-MIC: 200 mg/dl, 100 mg/dl, 50 mg/dl and 25 mg/dl and was subjected to the biofilm assay experimentation. Spectrophotometric readings yielded p ≥ 0.05. Therefore, Clitoria ternatea linn leaf extract does not have the capability to inhibit biofilm formation against Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
