520 _aABSTRACT: This is a case of 33-year-old male with a mass on his left submandibular area for 4 years. Computed Tomography with contrast revealed enlarged left submandibular gland and with the presence of internal calcifications. A complete blood panel was done which revealed unremarkable results. Chest x-ray was also normal Fine needle aspiration biopsy was done and revealed scattered cells composed of neutrophils and lymphocytes on a background of granular material. There were no malignant cells seen. Excision of the mass was performed and sent for histopathology and immunohistochemical staining. The final histopathology report revealed grossly irregularly shaped, tan brown to gray, rubbery piece of tissue meaning 6x5x4cm. Microscopically, it was described as an encapsulated lesion with myxoidhypocellular and compact spindle cell hypercellular areas. The cell are narrow, elongated and have nuclear palisading around fibrillary process. Immunohistochemical staining report showed a diffuse and intense S-100 protein positive. Above results led to the final diagnosis of schwannoma. There were no other associated signs or symptoms. Post operatively, the patient made an eventful recovery.
