520 _aAbstract: This is a case of a preterm infant with prenatal ultrasound findings of pericardial effusion and ascites. Physical examination showed he had low set of ears, slanted eyes, simian crease, and a single interphalangeal crease on the fifth digit, apex beat is at 3rd to 4th intercostal space, and a globular abdomen with negative fluid wave. Chromosomal analysis revealed Trisomy 21. He was noted to have persistent thrombocyytopenia with normal white blood cell count and differential count, and persistent mild generalized jaundice. His peropheral blood smear showed normal looking red blood cells, decreased platelets and immature looking blast cells. Thus, an assessment of Transient Abnormal Myelopoiesis (TAM) is made.
