520 | _aABSTRACT: Complementary Medicine (CM) is widely practiced in the Philippines and remains to thrive in many countries, yet inadequacy are present in detennining the knowledge, attitude, and practice of CM among adults (20-39 years old), middle age (40-59 years old), and elderly (60 years and above). This study aimed to compare the knowledge, attitude, and practice towards CM among age groups hi Barangay Fairview, Quezon City. Adults aged 20 and above residing in Quezon City were sampled. Descriptive cross-sectional study design was utilized to compare the knowledge, attitude, and practice between age groups using via survey through online and paper-and-pen. A total of 388 participants were included using purposive sampling method. Online survey was conducted through dissemination of the link (URL) to Faccbook groups of Barangay Fairview and mobile chat applications. For paper-and-pen surveys, die researchers approached the respondents personally. Both surveys were conducted in April 2023 for two weeks. Most commonly used practices were herbal /herbal remedies (n = 192), dietaiy supplements (n = 132), and meditation (n = 118). Across age groups, the 20-39 age group (adults), reported the highest use of herbal / herbal remedies (n = 71), followed by the 40-59 age group (middle-aged) (n = 70). The results provided that the majority in each age group were knowledgeable, demonstrated a favorable attitude, and frequently practiced CM. Significant differences towards knowledge and attitude among age groups were determined (p-values < 0.019 and <.001, respectively). For the recommendation, Information, Education, and Communication (ICE) materials across age groups may be necessaiy and mandatoiy addition and standardized education of CM in all Philippine medical schools.
