520 _aABSTRACT: Objective: To present rare case of a pediatric female patient with Schwannoma in the right post auricular area. Design: Case report Setting: Private tertiary hospital in Quezon City. Patient: One Summary This case involves a 4-year-old female who ha been diagnosed with a Schwannoma situated in the postauricular region on the right side. Managing this condition requires to thorough diagnostic and surgical approach to ensure accurate identification and effective treatment. The diagnostic process includes performing a Head and Neck CT scan with intravenous contrast, which provides detailed images of the tumor’s size, location, and its relationship with surrounding anatomical structures. Additionally, an excision biopsy is carried out to obtain a tissue sample for histopathological examination. This analysis is critical for confirming the diagnosis of Schwannoma and differentiating it from other benign tumors, such as neurofibromas or pleomorphic adenomas. The cornerstone of treatment is surgical excision, with the procedure tailored to the tumor’s size, location, and proximity to vital structure. The goal is to achieve complete tumor removal while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible. Depending on the extent of the excision and the impact on surrounding tissues, postoperative reconstruction may be required. This reconstructive process aims to restore both anatomical appearance and functional integrity, addressing any deficits resulting from the tumor removal. This comprehensive approach, involving precise diagnostic evaluation and tailored surgical intervention, is essential for optimizing outcomes and maintaining the patient’s quality of life.
