Its clinical importance and impact on both the mother and the fetus has not been resolved completely because of the lack of uniformity in detection and diagnosis of GDM. This paper aims to review GDM cases from January 2000 to November 2008 at FEU - NRMF Medical Center, and examine socio-demographic characteristic of patients with gestational diabetes mellitus and to determine the outcome. This is an analytic type of study. A total of 65 cases with GDM were identified from 9,000 obstetric admission from January 2000 to November 2008, with a rate of 0. 7% in the past 7 years. Complications include fetal macrosomia, preeclampsia, gestational hypertension, fetal distress, urinary tract infection and preeterm labor, increasing the rate of cesarean section as mmanner of delivery
