In addition to his own occupation, family, dreams, own quality time, a caregiver experiences a whole range of circumstances that takes down their physical and emotional well-being. Caregivers need to take care of themselves too. This paper enlightens the readers on the special needs of a 69 year old caregiver who was forced into this role when his wife suffered from cardiovascular accident, infarct of the right basal ganglia four years ago. Their seven children have their own families to take care, leaving the empty-nesters on their own. The impact of stress and better ways to manage that stress as well as taking care of themselves has been addressed. | ||
