520 | _aABSTRACT: Beliefs embody people`s perception of reality and include the primitive ideas of the universe as well the socialist`s empirical view of world. This may be a result of one`s experience in a place which the individual lives. Some of those beliefs are not scientifically proven but considered facts by those who hold them, like the idea held by the Aetas. In fact, they have their own set of health beliefs that run throughout their lives. One of those beliefs are "anitos" or spirit worship that helps them in times of needs and danger like when they have sicknesses or beliefs and practices for a more bountiful harvest. They also have shamans or medicine men who communicate with the spirits who heal these sicknesses and who demonstrate the efficacy of herbal medicine, one of the most important curative agents for them. They also believe that their maladies may due to condition of nature. | ||
