520 _aABSTRACT: The study focuses on the relationship of the perception of the teaching strategies of clinical instructors and the degree of learning of the fourth year students. The researchers developed a 30-item questionnaire that also includes respondents` profile like age, gender, and scholastic status. The items are based on Student Assessment Learning Gains (SALG), Classroom Assessment Technique (CAT), Teaching Goals Inventory (TGI) and Bloom`s Learning Taxonomy modified in a nursing approach. Data analysis indicated that students responded consistently to the instrument as a whole and to its four sub-scales. Control or manipulation of these variables was not truly exercised as this study merely describes the phenomena from the respondents` point of view. Of the 192 fourth year nursing students, 130 are the computed respondents using the Sloven`s formula. However, 98 seniors enrolled in the Far Eastern University Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation in the second semester of school year 2006-2007 participated in the study. Perception in common teaching strategies of the clinical instructors and their degree of learning on these strategies were assessed. The statistical treatment used in the study are: percentage for the interpretation of the respondents, weighted mean score and overall mean scores for the responses of the samples, Spearman Rho Rank Correlation Coefficient were computed to evaluate the level of Agreement between teaching strategies and the degree of learning, and T- test was used to test the significance of the correlation.
