520 _aAbstract: Tuberculosis remains a serious public health problem. This case series study aims to describe the distribution of adult PTB cases in FEU by clinical manifestations and radiographic features and by characteristics such as age, sex occupation and residence. It also determines the incidence of complications, duration of the course of illness, and outcome of the disease whether improved or did not improve. The records and chest radiograph of 20 adult patients diagnosed as PTB in FEUH ( Internal Medicine Department ), Manila from January 1 to June 30, 1995 were reviewed. Female made up 25% of the cases as compared to 75% males. A higher rate of occurrence was observed among males in ages 51 and up. Seventy five percent of the cases were from Metro Manila. Seventy percent of cases reviewed had unrecorded occupations. The effectivity of the drug therapy cannot be determined due to insufficient data. The small number of cases reviewed and the incompleteness are the barriers encountered in the study. The research group recommends the development of a more systematic and storage system, establishment of a TB registry, initiation of a program that encourages patients to go back follow-up and greater efficiency and cooperativeness of health personnel with each other and patients.
