520 _aAbstract: An action program on the level of awareness on Pulmonary Tuberculosis was conducted among mothers of children subsidized by the Salvation Army Tondo Day Care Center, July to September 1995. Ninety eight (98) mothers were initially considered. Only ninety (90), however, were able to complete the whole course of the program. Pre-test was conducted using a validated 2-page questionnaire. This was followed by an educational seminar. After a week, a Post-test was conducted using the same 2-page questionnaire. T-test was used to compare the results. The computed t--value of 2.974 is greater than the tabular t-value of 1.64485 with 89 degree of freedom and at .05 level of significance. The null hypothesis that the educational campaign in the form of lecture seminar does not improve the level of awareness on TB of the respondents was rejected. TB cases were identified through Roentgenography and Sputum microscopy (health profile) and were promptly referred to the Department of Health`s anti-TB program in coordination with the Salvation Army Day Care Center Clinic. This study suggests that the educational campaign has a significant effect on increasing the level of awareness of the respondents.
