Revascularization therapy for CAD is mainly indicated in patients who do not respond to optimal medical therapy and/or in those who demonstrate marked limitation of physical activity. Traditionally the femoral artery has been used as an for angiogram, but currently more interventional cardiologists advocate the use of the radial artery because of its lesser risk for major bleeding and vascular complications. However, when radial access fails, the most common alternative route is the femoral. This study aims to determine the demographic profile of patients as predictors of conversion from trans-radial to trans-femoral approach during coronary angiogram.
