Summary: Abstract: A case of a 13 year old male presented with sudden onset of abdominal pain and vomiting. Physical findings include a flat, with direct and rebound tenderness all over with a hypoactive bowel sounds. Patient underwent Emergency Exploratory Laparotomy. It is difficult to assess the specific location and cause of abdominal pain in the pediatric age group. As such, diagnosis is usually based on the most common incidence and location of the abdominal pain and other associated constitutional signs and symptoms. Upon further evaluation, once a diagnosis of surgical abdomen is established, children undergo surgical management. We are presented with a case of acute pancreatitis although uncommon, as an important cause of abdominal pain in children. This paper aims to further and review the disease` clinical presentation, diagnostic approach and management.
