Summary: Abstract: Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis is an important cause of nephrotic syndrome and renal insufficiency in children. Described is a case of a 10 year old female, diagnosed case of FSGS by renal biopsy after serial urinalysis monitoring for routine CP clearance revealed persistent microscopic hematuria and proteinuria, now presenting with sudden onset of gross hematuria with bipedal edema. Creatinine clearance was decreased, consistent with a diagnosis of Acute Kidney Injury. Patient responded to steroids and peritoneal dialysis. This case highlights the importance of close monitoring in children initially presenting with asymptomatic microscopic hematuria, as these patients are at risk for developing end stage renal disease.
