Abstract: A survey conducted by the authors showed that the majority of first year and second year medical students of FEU-NRMF Institute of Medicine are III-equipped in handling emergency cases, particularly those that concern common accidents. The authors embarked on a program that aimed to enrich the knowledge of selected medical students with regards to first aid measures, specifically to increase the number of subjects with minimum satisfactory scores (set at 6 correct answers out of 10 questions) in the evaluation, test from an initial 44% to 70%. A lecture-demonstration, exhibit and poster-making contest highlighted this information campaign. At the conclusion of the program, the results of the evaluation show that 69% of the total population achieved the minimum satisfactory score.
