Summary: ABSTRACT: Among Asian countries, breast cancer is most prevalent in the Philippines. Breast cancer is the second leading site for both sexes (13.2%) and ranks first (25.9%) among women according to the data of the Philippine Cancer Facts and Estimates as of 1998. For the past 20 years , breast cancer diagnosis increased about 2% each year in 1993, the incidence was approximately 8,421 new cases, a rate which has risen to 9,436 new cases in 1998.
