Summary: ABSTRACT: A Descriptive Study was performed to determine the baseline level of knowledge, attitudes and practices on recycling in sector 6, Kingspoint Subdivision, Quezon City, and to correlate their attitudes with their practices. A survey form was provided for the interview of each family. There were 63 families in sector 6, 50 of which participated in the study 50 of the survey form were included in the analysis. Results showed that most families about 87% gave good definitions of recycling which is subdivided into 35% as reusing of old objects, 31% as proper segregation & lessening the among of garbage for cleanliness & beatification. 9% as composting , 8% as reselling of bottles, newapapers, & metals, 3% as the proper management of limited resources and 1% as making new products out of garbage. 8% of them confusedly understood recycling as burning of garbage. In addition to this, about 94% of the respondents believe that it has benefits to the family and the community. It was estimated that 84.66% of the respondents have a positive attitude on Recycling. Finally, the community as a whole responded with highly consistent marks in 5 out of 8 questions regarding their contribution to garbage recycling. Inferential statistics was performed, but no definite correlation between the attitudes and practices of the community was found to be significant at an alpha value of 0.5.
