ABSTRACT: The effect on cholesterol of fermented rice was investigated from 5 healthy individuals. A slight lowering effect, but still on the normal range, on blood cholesterol was observed on 3 subjects after 7 days of daily intake of 150 ml of wine. This is brought about by its antioxidant content. Due to variable purity of consumed wine, the more pure has lesser cholesterol level lowering effect.
