Comparison between the Modified CT Severity index (MCTSI) and CT severity index (CTSI) in Assessing Severity of Acute Pancreatitis - FEU-NRMF QUEZON CITY 2016 - 24 PAGES
ABSTRACT: To compare the validity of modified CT severity index (MCTSI) and the currently accepted CT severity index (CTSI) is predicting acute pancreatitis among diagnosed patients of FEU-NRMF Medical Center from November 2010 to May 2015 using clinical parameters as the criterion standard. This study is a retrospective cross-sectional database review of 42 cases of acute pancreatitis that underwent contrast-enhanced CT scan or MRI admitted or transferred to our institution. A senior experienced radiologist reviewed all imaging studies who were blinded to patient outcome using the two indices. Descriptive static, Chi-square with Fischer's exact tests adjustments and analysis of variance were used in this study. Risk cut off values were tested in both CTSI and MCTSI to estimate the sensitivity, specificity, negative and positive predictive values, and likehood ratios.
