ABSTRACT: Several guidelines for management of hypertension had been organized and designed in the hope of controlling blood pressure and avert cardiovascular events. However, even with adherence to these guidelines, majority of hypertensive population remains to be uncontrolled. Clinical trials generally obtain data under a tightly controlled setting, and populations often donot present those seen in reallife practice. Angiotensin-receptor Blokers (ARB)are one of the most widely used antihypertensive agent and, together with calcium channel blockers, are the most widely used antihypertensive agents. The question now is whether ARBs are as effective when it comes to control of hypertension in a real-world practice just as what the guidelines have started.
