A Case of a 27 year-old female with recurrent pancreatitis due to hypertriglyceridemia /

Abstract: This is a case of a 27-year old female non-diabetic, non-hypertensive, with interval history of seven admissions presenting with epigastric pain radiating to the back with assoiciated episodes on non-bilious, non-bloody non-projectile vomiting with physical examination finding of globular abdomen, normoactive bowel sounds, with epigastric tenderness. Diagnostics from one of the admissions revealed very severe hypertriglyceridemia with the value of 23.56mmol/L, serum Lipase of 459.9 U/L (7.6 times elevated) and serum amylase of 242.2U/L (2.42 times revealed elevated). Non-contrast whole abdominal CT Scan with impression of acute/recurrent pancreatic body/tail pancreatitis; non-dilated biliary tree and pancreatic duct. Patient was managed with hydration, bowel rest and analgesics.
