ABSTRACT:
Ectopic pregnancy happens when implantation of the developing blastocyst situates beyond the uterine lining. Most ectopic pregnancies—more than 95%—occur in the fallopian tubes. Other nontubal pregnancy sites include cervix, ovary, abdomen, and
cesarean scar. We report an interesting case of a 32-year-old, Gravida 4 Para 3 (3003) who came in with a chief complaint of vaginal spotting. She was diagnosed with Cesarean scar pregnancy at 8 weeks and 6 days age of gestation. Upon consult, patient underwent transvaginal ultrasound revealing single, live, pregnancy 9 weeks age of gestation by Crown Rump Length, with good cardiac activity; findings consistent with CS scar gestation. Laparoscopy, surgical, with lysis of adhesion, Treatment of Ectopic Pregnancy with Excision was done under General Anesthesia - Orotracheal Intubation. This paper will present the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, risk factors, and current literature in the management of this type of ectopic pregnancy.
