Abstract: Chronic Covert Bacteriuria, like symptomatic Urinary Tract Infection is a clinical problem common woman of all ages Approximately 17.5% of women between 15-44 years of age develop urinary infection at some time. Undoubtedly, certain conditions predispose to the develop of the disease. One probable condition is the use of sanitary panty liners that might serve as a nidus for bacterial growth and spread at the urinary tract. This study evaluates the prevalence of the mentioned relationship. First morning; clean catch urine samples, taken from 56 female medical students at FEU-NRMF, of Medicine, were tested for signs of chronic covert bacteriuria using Nitrite test and Routine Urinalysis. The results showed that there is no statistically significant prevalence of chronic covert bacteriuria among women using sanitary panty liners.
