Abstract: Holesterol plays an important role in producing coronary and cardiac related pathology, one of them is hypercholesterolemia. Using the combined effects lowering effects of Simvastatin, the research study aims to establish the potentiating effect produced by the Platinum Photon Fiber on Simvastatin causing a decrease in the blood cholesterol level. The platinum Photon Fiber alters the molecular organization of water by the vibrational energy it produced. Thus, enhancing ionic flow and improving blood circulation. On the other hand, Simvastatin inhibits the action of HMG CoA reductase activity. The research study made use of 30 male rabbits as experimental animals. They were designated into 3 groups, the first 10 treated with Simvastatin and Platinum Photon Fiber, the next 10 with Simvastatin and neutral fiber and the last 10 served as the control group received no form of treatment. The research design utilized in the study was double blind pretest and post-test trials. Initial total cholesterol assays were determined and served as the baseline value. Data were evaluated and statistically analyzed. Group A gave 5.92 percentage difference while Group B ans C had 3.67 and 1.30 percentage difference respectively. Despite of the noted change in the total blood cholesterol, the research needs further study and evaluation by prolonging the treatment period and cross-over trial is highly recomemded. |
