Summary, etc. ABSTRACT: Antibiotic resistance is a major global concern today. New resistance mechanisms of some bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa are merging globally, threatening our ability to treat common diseases. This research study focuses on determining whether the selected plant based anti-quorum sensing in conjuction with cipfloxacin, where pseudomonas aeruginosa is known to be resistant, will generate an effective results to aid the scare of antimicrobial resistance. The selected plants: Musa paradislaca (AQS 01), Zingeber officinale (AQS02) and Origanum vulgare (AQS 03) were certified at the Philippine National Herbarium for proper identification of genus and species and undergone ethanolic crude extraction & rotary evaporator at Industrial Technology Development Institute - Department of Science and Technology (ITDI-DOST) yielded a semi solid extracts of 3.9% for AQS 01, 1.4% for AQS 02 and 1.6% for AQS 03. The Pseudomonas aaeruginosa clinical isolates, where obtained from Amang Rodriguez Medical Center, were subjected for biochemical testing for validity of the said pathogens and the concentration of the drug used in this study is 2mg/ml. The researchers perform an experimental study that will demonstrate the synergy of AQS agents and ciprofloxacin by comparing the zone of inhibitions between the control group and the experimental group. In this study, the control group were the undiluted ciprofloxacin (2mg/ml conc.) undiluted and anti-quorum sensing agents while experimental group were the diluted mixtures of the ciprofloxacin and anti-quorum agents. Each of the group were subjected to two - fold serial dilutions, where the original concentration reduces by one-half, with the following concentrations: 1:5,1:10,1:20,1:40,1:80 to compare at which dilutions best inhibit the growth of the organisms thru antimicrobial sensitivity testing of each groups.
