520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Abstract: Okra ( Abelmoschus esculentus ) is widely used in folk medicine. It is reported to have the ability to manage increased blood glucose concentration. This traditional claim has been correlated with modern research and proven in numerous studies. To further expand this assertion, the present investigation revolved around characterization of the aqueous extract of Abelmoschus esculentus. The characterization performed are in terms of organleptic evaluation and physicochemical evaluation which includes determination of pH, solubility, moisture content, determination of ash value and determination of angle of repose. The results gathered showed that the aqueous extract of Abelmoschus esculentus is not suitable to be developed into oral hypoglycaemic solution.
